Direct Microbial Identification |
|
Conventional, culture-based microbiological methods usually deliver results only after 2 to 3 days and they are limited when antibiotic therapies have already been administered. Clinical decision making as well as therapy monitoring requires early and rapid pathogen identification. SepsiTest™ is a diagnostic test detecting and identifying more than 345 pathogens. SepsiTest™ can be used for the identification of bacteria, yeasts and other fungi from a broad number of sample types including whole blood, heart valve tissue and synovial fluid. SepsiTest™ is CE-IVD-marked according to the European in-vitro diagnostic directive (98/79/EG) and is now available for routine diagnostics. These are the SepsiTest™ key characteristics: - Pathogen identification directly from blood, body fluid or tissue
- Identification of more than 345 bacteria and fungi
- Not biased by antibiotics; fast detection results (4 h)
- Identification of blood culture-negative infections
- European approval according to CE-IVD
- Recommended for therapy monitoring
Sepsis, Endocarditis, Joint Infections, ....currently, there are more than 14 different applications available. Have a look at the SepsiTest™ Application Overview. Last Update 2009-01-15 |
