UMD™ Universal is the ultimate solution for the daily analysis of a broad-range of specimens. DNA extraction protocols are supplied for whole blood, primary body fluids including CSF and synovial fluid, BAL, exudates like sputum, and tissues and biopsies. Because of the universal detection any bacterial or fungal pathogen causing diseases like sepsis, meningitis, septic arthritis, pneumonia and endocarditis is detected with high sensitivity. As an important feature UMD™ Universal is also able to detect and identify pathogens that are viable but not growing in culture as a reason of growth inhibition by antibiotics.
