UMD™ Tissue enables the analysis of pathogens provoking endocarditis, septic arthritis or other infections of tissues like abscesses. The kit supplies a protocol adapted to the extraction of pathogen DNA from natural tissue specimens including heart valves, skin, bone and biopsies but also from prosthetic material including stents and artificial heart valves. The PCR or Real-Time PCR analysis is completed within only 4 hours. Identification is performed by sequence analysis of the amplicons from positive reactions.
