Universal Microbe Detection is the perfect research kit for identifying a broad range of bacteria and fungi from a variety of sample types. DNA extraction and PCR protocols are supplied for whole blood, primary body fluids including CSF and synovial fluid, BAL, exudates like sputum and urine, human, animal and plant tissues, biopsies, and biofilms. Bacteria, yeasts and other fungi are detected through rRNA genes-specific universal PCR assays. Sequencing primers are included.
Identification may be performed through Sanger sequencing, pyrosequencing or other next generation sequencing methods. As an important feature Universal Microbe Detection is also able to detect and identify microorganisms that are viable but not growing in culture as a reason of complex growth requirements or inhibition by antibiotics.
