SepsiTest™ is based on the universal PCR or Real-Time PCR detection and sequence identification of organisms causing sepsis. After only 4 hours, the first result directs to the information whether or not there is a bacteraemia and/or fungaemia. In positive cases, sequence analysis of the amplicon results in the readout of the species. SepsiTest™ has proven to indicate culture-negative infections under antibiotic treatment, multiple infections and cases of fastidious organisms including fungi, anaerobes and intracellular bacteria.
