As a culture-independent method of analysing samples for the presence of pathogenic bacteria and fungi, molecular diagnosis depends on special care for the avoidance of contamination. This holds true for all steps of processing samples, including sample collection and storage until PCR/Real-Time PCR analysis. Molzym has developed a contained DNA-free system, UMD™ Tubes, for deep-freeze storage (-70 to -80°C) of all kinds of specimens, including whole blood and other liquid body samples. UMD™ Tubes stabilise the specimens with respect to the avoidance of damage of pathogens by freeze-thaw effects. The product is recommended to be used with our analytic products, SepsiTest™, UMD™ and SepsiTest™ SelectNA.

UMD™ Tubes is for research-use only and not to be used for in-vitro diagnostics.
